Alice was a daring adventurous little woman who delighted in riding barefoot and in a standing position astride two barback horses. She wieghted 90 pounds when she married Lewis Scott Taylor. Alice later became a very devout Christian after moving to WV. At times she would feel a prompting to pray for her son Clyde who was serving in France (WWI). Later he would relate to her that at those particular times men were falling all around him. Alice was always helping neighbors with various tasks including preparing bodies of their loved ones for burial. She taught Sunday School and lived a quiet unasuming life always doing for others. She was an excellent seamstress. The girls would see dresses they liked in a catalog and she would make them. Her handiworks also included quilt making, embroidering, and crocheting. Very task oriented, days were filled with busy activities such as picking wild blackberries and huckleberries (blueberries), canning, gardening, flowers, ironing, house chores and church going.
