Census records, deeds and per. property tax rolls show Dennis in counties of Bedford(1790-1826-perhaps earlier), Per. Property tax rolls show no acreage listed until 1795 (130 Acreas- Jeremiah Meador decreases 130A and Dennis is taxed on 120A for the first time), 254A from Samuel Howell & C on Blue Ridge Mtn. & Falling Crk. 1815, Sold to Abraham Baker 1817; Franklin (1818-1826), 98.5A from Wm. & Judith McCormack on both sides of Linville Creek 1819, Sold to Richard S. Tilden of Lynchburg, 1823 for $1,000; Giles (1825-1833). Married by Jonh Ayers, Methodist Episcopal Minister 2 June 1791 in Bedford Co, VA-wintessed by Micajah Dowell and Richard Meador, Dennis signed with an X. Estate of D. McCormack of Giles Go August Court, 1833 shows sales to Molly (Mary) McCormack and to Samuel McCormack of household and farm tool items. There is a Dennis Mccormick listed in the Rockbridge Per. Prop. Tax List B for 1787. I do not know if this is the same Dennis or not. Albermarle Co shows the purchase of 55A by a Dennis McCormick from Geroge Covington in 1763. It seems that this Dennis is too old to be my Dennis--maybe his father or an Uncle? I have been assuming that Dennis is the son of Micajah McCormack Senior of Bedford Co. Va. Micajah McCormack Senior was the orphaned son of William McCormack of Fredericksville Parish.

FILM 0216831 lists the birth of Alamira McCormack f to Micajah McCormick and Rhoda Muncy. I believe Micajah may be the grandson of Dennis McCormick and Mary Meador. Their son, Lorenzo, had a son called "Cager" who married Rhoda Muncy.
It is quiet possible that Dennis is a grandson of William and Rebecca Mc Cormack of Fredericksville Perish, VA. 16 May 1737 William McCormack of St. Martins Parish in Goochland Co. (later Fredericksville Parish) purchased 100 acres at Lickinghole Creek from Charles Toney of St. James Parish in Goochland [part of original patent to Charles Toney. Will recorded 25 Sep 1753 leaves plantation plus 150 acres to son William after wifes death and 100 acres in Goochland Co. to son Thomas. Soon thereafter, orphaned sons Micajah and Charles are indentured by churchwardens of Fredericksville Parish. Children of William & Rebecca McCormick: l. M William Mc Cormack 2. From Bob MCombs: Finally got out to the FHS today. Went to the 1830 census index and found the following: Dennis McCormic, pg. 228; Lorenzo McCormic, pg 229; Jonathan McCormic, pg 229; Micajah Brumfield, pg 214; Landon Duncan, pg 229.
I then went to the census film (29669)

While I don't think there is a way of relating locations from pages 214 and 219, I would think that persons on 228 and 229 lived close together although it gives no clue as to where they might be in relationship to the county. I ordered a new film on the property tax lists today. Hopefully it will give the mileage to the county seat. Should be here in a week to 10 days.
Regarding neighbors, Dennis was enummerated 15 visitations before Lorenzo and Lorenzo was enummerated 9 visitations before Jonathan. Below is a list of the heads of household on pages 228 & 229 in the order that they appear

Dennis did not stay at the Blue Ridge location very long (2 years) before moving on to Franklin County near other McCormacks: Willian, Anderson, Wright, John & John D. It could be that he did not even live on the parcel.
1823 McCormack, Dennis, John Meador & Abel Meador Samuel & Sparrel Hale Order Book No. 1 485 Suit Samuel & Sparrel Hale Ptiffs; Dennis McCormack, John Meador and Abel Meador Deft. Of Execution on a forfeited forthcoming Bond taken on a Writ of Fieri Faeias (?) sued out of this Court by the Plaintiff against the Defendant Dennis McCormack and John Meador his appearance Bail. This day came the Plaintiff by their Attorney and it appearing to the Court from the oath of Elisha Kien (?) Deputy Sheriff that the Defendants have had legal notice of this motion they were Solemnly called but came not where upon it is considered by the Court that the Plaintiffs may have execution against the Defendants for Two hundred and forty one dollars and sixteen cents the penalty of the said forthcoming Bond and that they recover against the Defendants their costs by them in this behalf expended. But this Judgment is to be discharged by the payment of One hundred and twenty dollars and fift eight cents with legal Interest thereon from the 31st day of March 1823 til payment and the costs. In 1815,
Dennis McCormack purchased 254 acres on Blue Ridge Mountain from Samuel Howel for $200 which he sold two years later to Abraham Baker for $1200 (nice appreciation). It brings to question whether he actually ever lived there before moving to Franklin County. Is this suit related to that sale? How do John Meador and Abel Meador connect?
Notes from Marilee Russell: A writ of fieri facias is a writ of execution,i.e. a legal procedure that provides for the enforcement of a judgment for debt or damages. The writ was issued after the Plaintiff had won an underlying lawsuit against Dennis McCormack. The other named persons may or may not have been defendants in the original lawsuit. Dennis lost the suit, perhaps by default.
From your abstraction, it appears that John Meador had been the surety ("made bond") for The original Defendant or Defendants. When the Defendant or Defendants did not appear or discharge (pay) the amount of the judgment had been decided against, the bond was forfeited. Bond could have been pledged by "oath", value of real estate or personal property. When the bond was forfeited, the surety became a defendant. However, the writ of fieri facias itself directs the sheriff or deputy sheriff that the debt is to be made available from the goods and chattels of the defendants. In same cases, real estate could be taken as settlement, depending upon the applicable laws, localities, and if the defendant possessed sufficient personal property. Of particular interest is the fact that this debt was against any and all of the named defendants: they were individually and jointly liable. John Meador could end up having to pay all of Dennis' debt or something could be taken from all the named Defendants.
The sheriff or deputy could enter (but not by breaking an outer door or window) the house of the Defendant and seize goods "of the whole or the part"for satisfaction of the debt. In other words, the sheriff could take the amount of goods needed to satisfy the debt, even if it included "the whole" of the Defendant's goods.
It appears that the judgment was in the amount of $241.16 plus costs, court costs, and attorney fees, but Dennis could discharge the judgment if he or the other named defendants paid $120.58 +interest and costs in cash.
