Deeds: Carter CO Deed Book 18 13 July 1913 Bayard Thayer, C. Minet Weld and Eugene V. R. Thayer in the Comonwealth of Massasshussetts, Trustees under the last will of Nathaniel Thayer, late of Lancaster, in the County of Worcester, and Commonwealth aforesaid, deceased, which will was duly proved and allowed by the Probate Court of said County on the Third day of April, 1883, do by virture and in execution of the power to us given in and by said will, and every other power and authority thereto enabling, and in consideration of the sum of $630 dollars paid by M. V. Hicks and William Taylor . . . grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said M. V. Hicks and William Taylor the following property: A part of the property conveyed to the Trustees of the estate of N. Thayer by deed from the Eastern Kentucky Railway Company, dated june 29, 1907, and recorded in Deed Book No. II, page 149 of the records of Carter County, Kentucky, lying on Spring Branch of lost Creek of Dry Fork of Little Sandy River . . corner between O. G. Conway and Robet Key . . with line of Peter Golihew . . . Peter Golihew and Elliott Skeans . . along side of County road . . East side of Spring Branch . . corner with Elliott Skeens and B. C. Godihew's widow . . containing 90 1/4 acres. It is expressly understood that all the coal in the vein underlying this property described above in the view now being worked in the land adjoining that herein conveyed and known as Kentucky No. 7 vein, is hereby reserved to parties of the first part together with the right to enter upon the land and remove the sems, and to have all the necessary rights required to use this reservation, including places for dumping the slate, dirt, rock and any other substances that require removal of the outside of the mine or mines, also the right to construct, maintain and operate a furnace or furnaces for ventilation with the necessary airways in connection therewith, also the right to haul along any underground way upon this land any coal that the party of the first part desires to remove from any other land that can be removed through this land is expressly and specifically reserved , and is to the party of the first part, and is in no wise conveyed to the party of the second part, the purpose of this deed being to convey the property described herein to the parties of the second part, subject to the right herein specified as remaining in the party of the first part.
Carter CO KY Deed Book 58 26 day of February 1937 between Wm. Taylor, a single man hereinafter called party of the first part and George Taylor hereinafter called party of the second part, Witnessed: That for and in consideration of the division of the land willed to the said William Taylor, George Taylor and L. S. Taylor by their brother, Albert Taylor, the party of the first part has this day sold, assigned, aliened and by these presents do convey unto the said party of the second part, all the undivided interest in and to the following described tract of land the interest herein conveyed being a two-third undivided interest, and which is bounded and described as follows, to wit: All that certain tract or parcel of land, situate, lying and being on Lost Creek a tributary of Dry Fork of Little Fork of Little Sandy Rivber in Carter County, Kentucky, and bounded as follows: . . . to a stone in the line between Taylor and Willaims on the ridge at Grave Yard, . . ..two hickories on the Taylor side and a sassafrass on the William side marked . . . containing 50 acres, more or less; the grantor Wm. Taylor holds title to a one third undivided interest conveyed herein by virtue of the will of Albert Taylor which is recorded in Will Book Nol. 2 P 229, records of Carter County Court Clerk's Office and by virture of a deed of conveyance from L. S. Taylor bearing date the __ day of ___, 19__, and of record in Volume ___page___Deed Records of Carter County, Kentucky. To have and to hold the above described tract of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever with covenants of General Warranty. Wills: Carter CO KY Will Book 2 P 229 May 28, 1918 I hereby bequeath everything that I possess which conists of one hundred and forty (140) acres of land lying in Carter County Kentucky, and a span (?) of mules to my three brothers, namely, Scott Taylor, George Taylor, and W. M. Taylor, the same to be equally divided among them.

Taylor, of Partlow Carter County ky, and being of sound mind and memory, desire to make this my last will and testament. 1st, At my death i want my just debts paid and my funeral expenses all paid, and what ever is left of my estate both real or personal or mixed is to to to Elmer Hicks, who is my sister child.
