Mary Virginia TAYLOR
Born in Ky, lived in Michigan, grew up at Monitor WV with her two sisters and older brothers. Virginia had long curls (her high school yearbook picture labeled her as "Curls"). She took normal courses (teacher education) while in high school and began teaching immediately upon graduation. Logan County WV school teacher for 32 years-Primary, 1st & 2nd grades. Private piano instructor and accompanist for grade school chorus at J.B. Ellis Grade School. Still played several piano pieces from memory in later life such as "Falling Waters". She and her sister Elizabeth (also a Logan Co teacher) were constant companions and traded their limited wardrobes back and forth. They were both petite size at 5'0". A quiet, reserved mild mannered woman, Virginia worked hard as the main "bread winner" of her family the last 20 years of her life seeing that her family had the necessities while she sometimes went without.
