1833 Brumfield Micajah East Fork Graham Survey, Law CO KY tax list first time he appears on tax but James appears as aearly as 1822

Death date on Bounty land Warrant 40-160-25670 and on War of 1812 pension application #8693 is 28 Nov 1837

Index to War of 1812 Pensiion Files, Vol 1, A-1, transcribed by Virgil D. White: "Brumfield, Micager, Ellender, WO-8693, served in KY milita" MARRIAGE-DEATH-WIFE: Bromfield, Micager (widow Ellender). W.O. 8693 2 March 1872. Lawrence Co., Ky. Elendor (X) Brumfield of said county, age 84, declares she is the widow of Micager Brumfield who was discharged at Norfolk, Va., in 1813. Her husband received a land warrant about 1852 (sic). She was Elendor Clay and was married in 1803 at Tazewell Co., Va., by Mr. Lockwood. Her husband died at Lawrence County 28 Nov 1837. Her post office is Louisa, Ky. Bounty land warrant 22569-160-50 was issued to Eleanor (maiden name Clay) widow of Micajah Brumfield, for his service in Capt Preston's company, Virginia Militia, for about nine months in 1791, 1792, or 1793. Marriage was proven 15 Feb 1802. Pension application was rejected for want of evidence of service in the War of 1812.

Note that application states she was married in 1803 in 'Tazewell County VA and at the end of the application it states that marriage was proven 15 Feb 1802.

Notes from Martha Marsh Foster: 1815 Tax list of Giles Co VA lists Micajah Brumfield as living on the south side-Wolf Creek & Five Mile Fork. In the house there was 1 white make over 16, -0 slaves, 2 horses and 4 cows.

Giles Co 1810 Census for Micajah Brumfield.. 1 male under 10 2 females under 10 1 male 10-16 1 female 10-16 1 male 26-45 1 female 16-26

Even if Eleanor was 25, that would have made her terribly young for the two children 10-16. One of the two females under 10 look to be Lucinda. Since Micajah was 21-22 years older than Eleanor, it seems possible that perhaps he was married before or the two older children were siblings of he or Elanor and were living with them in 1810.

1820 census Giles Co VA LDS film # 193689 p 113 abstracted by Bob Coombs. 1 male under 10 2 females under 10 1 male 16-26 2 females 10-16 1 male 26-45 1 female 26-45 1 male over 45 2 involved in Agriculture.
